Beenish Ahmed

Beenish Ahmed is a writer and reporter. She’s working on a collection of interconnected stories called ISLAMERICA which are set during major events between 9/11 and now. Her novel-in-progress about a mysterious mass murder in Pakistan won first place in the Jack Jones First Novel Prize.

Ahmed is the creator of a literary venture called THE ALIGNIST and a reporter with the NPR station, Michigan Public.

Previously, she has been a Spencer Fellow at Columbia University, a Kroc Fellow at NPR, and a Fulbright Scholar to Cambridge University. Her work has appeared in the New Yorker, the Atlantic, VICE, and other outlets
