Taurus Burns

Taurus Burns (b.1974, Kalamazoo, MI) grew up in a military family, living in various cities across the U.S. and Germany. After graduating high school in 1992, he felt disillusioned by a fractured world until crossing paths with renowned  artist Jon Onye Lockard (1932-2015). Burns moved to Detroit in 1998 to study fine arts at the College for Creative Studies, receiving a BFA with high honors in 2002. Continuing his lifelong journey of self-discovery and advocacy, Burns explores racial and cultural themes in his art.
