Jazz bassist, educator, and advocate receives $100,000 award. Hayden is the 17th metro Detroiter to receive the honor for lifetime artistic achievement and contributions to the region’s cultural communities.

The 16th cohort of artists consists of 17 Kresge Artist Fellows in Film & Music and 7 Kresge Artist Fellows in Live Arts, in addition to 7 Gilda Award recipients in Film & Music and 3 in Live Arts.
METRO TIMES 5TH ANNUAL FICTION ISSUE FEATURING KRESGE FELLOWS
For the 5th year, Kresge Arts in Detroit partnered with the Metro Times to publish the Fiction Issue. This issue of the weekly publication is dedicated to spotlighting local literary and visual artists from metro Detroit. Bayan Founas (2021 Gilda Award recipient) led as editor and Drew Philp (2017 Kresge Artist Fellow) served as deputy editor. Contributors include current and previous Kresge Artist Fellows.
