Artists living in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb county are invited to apply for $50,000 Kresge Artist Fellowships through January 16, 2025.
Kresge Arts in Detroit will award $50,000 fellowships in Literary Arts and Visual Arts to 15 metro Detroit artists.
The 16th cohort of artists consists of 17 Kresge Artist Fellows in Film & Music and 7 Kresge Artist Fellows in Live Arts, in addition to 7 Gilda Award recipients in Film & Music and 3 in Live Arts.
For the 5th year, Kresge Arts in Detroit partnered with the Metro Times to publish the Fiction Issue. This issue of the weekly publication is dedicated to spotlighting local literary and visual artists from metro Detroit. Bayan Founas (2021 Gilda Award recipient) led as editor and Drew Philp (2017 Kresge Artist Fellow) served as deputy editor. Contributors include current and previous Kresge Artist Fellows.
