Jimel

Jimel Primm was born and raised on Detroit’s west side. In 2019, he began his photography journey with a borrowed camera, capturing everyday life. That hands-on approach sparked a new excitement and became the foundation of Primm’s artistic voice. In 2020, he traveled with Southfield High School’s marching band to Mardi Gras, where he discovered the power of storytelling through a camera. Between 2022-23, Primm’s work took him to Africa, Haiti, and throughout the states. Since then, he has worked with diverse clients, continuing to grow as a photographer with excitement for what’s next.
