Liana Jahan Imam is an American essayist and poet, born in Southeast Michigan. She holds an MFA from the University of Montana where she taught while also instructing at a local juvenile detention center. Imam has a 15-year history of publication in literary journals, anthologies, and zines. In Detroit, she has served as a writer-in-residence with InsideOut Literary Arts and facilitated cross-genre workshops through Room Project and Women of Banglatown. Imam is a member of Room Project’s inaugural steering committee.
