Maddox-Julien Slide

Maddox-Julien Slide is a Black, queer, enby storyteller born and raised in small town South Carolina and living on the East Side of Detroit since 2020. They were adopted and raised in a religiously constrictive household and were homeschooled which led them to spend many hours alone in the woods, consoled by books. Finding solace in stories pushed Slide toward creating their own worlds, on the page and the physical places they call home. Fiction storytelling for Slide has always been about building connections and creating understanding around how we live, why, and what we must all do to get more free.
