Manal Shoukair is a Detroit-based, Lebanese-American artist. She uses performance, sculpture, and site-specific installations to explore the hyphenated spaces of her multicultural identity, Islamic spirituality, and contemporary femininity.
Shoukair earned a BFA from the College for Creative Studies in 2017 and was awarded an Imre J. Molnar Artistic Achievement Award from the college in 2018. In the spring of 2019, she helped co-direct and maintained an artist-run project and studio space, CAVE. Shoukair is a recent MFA graduate from the sculpture department at Virginia Commonwealth University.
