Skinny Trell

Skinny Trell was born in Texas and moved to Detroit at the age of two; his family has resided there for the past 24 years. Due to his brother’s father being a DJ, he was exposed to a slew of musical genres during his adolescent years that would shape his musical sound. From studying creative writing in high school to graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in fiction filmmaking and screenwriting, Skinny Trell used these connections to release his first EP titled “Bloom” in 2020, creating a short film around the project. The short film would go on to air at the Kennedy Center in DC.
