Slumdog Visionaire
Elonte Davis, known as Slumdog Visionaire, is a Detroit-based photographer whose images form a living archive of family, memory, and neighborhood truth. He has exhibited at Irwin House Gallery, the Detroit Historical Museum, and held a solo show at the Liquor Basket. Davis photographed Detroit’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and led creative compositions workshops at the DIA. Three of his photographs are on view at the Wright Museum through 2026. His 2025 book, “This Is Where I’m At and This Is What I’m Doing,” honors Black childhood in a photo essay, “a sacred memory still unfolding.”
