Airea D. Matthews
Airea D. Matthews is a Cave Canem and Callaloo Fellow, and the Assistant Director of The Helen Zell Writers’ Program at the University of Michigan, where she earned a MFA. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in American Poets, Best American Poetry 2015, The Baffler, Callaloo, Indiana Review, WSQ, Muzzle, Vinyl, Kinfolks, and elsewhere. Matthews’ prose has appeared in SLAB, Michigan Quarterly Review, and Vida: Her Kind. She is the co-executive editor of The Offing, a channel of the Los Angeles Review of Books. She lives in Detroit with her husband and their four children.
