Elton Monroy Duran

Elton Monroy Duran was born in Ciudad Sahagun within the State of Hidalgo, Mexico. He received a BFA from the School of Fine Arts at the University of the State of Querétaro (2003). Duran spent one year at Paderborn University in Germany from 2000-2001. He worked as a design engineer for Carbel Print in Mexico from 2005-2011. Duran came to Detroit in winter of 2014 and has been painting murals here ever since.

He explains, “I feel this is my home. Now I have my family here. Detroit has been the fertile land in which to cultivate my artistic expression…”
