Jeanne Bieri
Jeanne Bieri grew up on a farm in Hastings, Michigan, taught in a two-room school house in Hopkins, Michigan, got married and moved to Detroit in 1972. In the 1980’s, she discovered art-making, began to translate the visual world into her own terms, and earned an MFA from Wayne State University. Bieri uses sewing as a way to move ideas and images, a type of visual problem solving that keeps the artistic process flexible.
