Ellen Coons
Ellen Coons is a freelance animator and illustrator. Her short films—created mostly with a digital still camera using stop-motion animation techniques—are colorful, imaginative, and original. She is inspired by the endless possibilities of stop-motion animation, including manipulating texture, light, color, sound, story, and motion, and the opportunity to renounce control and capture what already exists, including unplanned elements such as dust, water, and found objects. Coons earned her BFA in character animation from the College for Creative Studies in 2012, and now teaches part-time at CCS.
