Gary Anderson

Gary Anderson is the Artistic Director of Plowshares Theatre Company. He has worked on world premieres and established plays for over 25 years. As a director, Gary has worked in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Denver, and Houston. Throughout his career, he has worked with choreographer George Faison, playwrights Charles “Oyamo” Gordon, Ron Milner, and August Wilson, producer Woodie King, Jr., and actresses Denise Nicholas, Ella Joyce, and Stephanie Mills. Among his credits are Woza Albert, Zooman and the Sign, Pill Hill, The Piano Lesson, Buses, I Am A Man, and Two Trains Running.

Anderson served as a 2012-2015 Kresge Arts in Detroit Advisory Council member.
