Lauren Kalman

Lauren Kalman is a visual artist based in Detroit. Raised in Cleveland, she completed her MFA in art and technology from The Ohio State University and earned a BFA with a focus in metals from Massachusetts College of Art. Her practice is rooted in contemporary craft, sculpture, video, photography, and performance. Kalman is internationally recognized for her work’s impact on the jewelry and broader craft fields. Kalman has been an educator as long as she has been an artist and considers teaching to be a significant part of her career.
