Mitch McCabe
Mitch McCabe is a Detroit-based artist, filmmaker, and educator. Over three decades, Mitch has made narrative, nonfiction, and experimental films that mine themes of class, politics, geography, and identity. A 2026 Guggenheim fellow, their films have aired on HBO, Showtime and PBS, screening at Sundance, True/False, New Directors/New Films, Doc Sheffield, Camden, Ann Arbor, Visions du Reel, Margaret Mead, Media City and New York Film Festivals, as well as Walker Art Center, Lincoln Center, and MoMA. Their work has been supported by MacDowell, Yaddo, MASS MoCA, and the Princess Grace and Jerome Foundations. In 2024 McCabe’s film “23 MILE” premiered at True/False and won the TruthDox Award at Dokufest.
