Weam Namou
Weam Namou is an Eric Hoffer award-winning author of 17 books and a filmmaker of two feature films which, together, have won over 40 international film awards. She has held numerous leadership roles in the literary and film sector, including as an ambassador for the Authors Guild of America, Detroit Chapter. Born in Baghdad and raised in metro Detroit, Namou loves to use storytelling to share her ancestral history, culture, and community. As such, in 2019, she accepted the position of executive director of the Chaldean Cultural Center, which houses the world’s first and only Chaldean museum.
