Aisha Ellis

Aisha Ellis is a Detroit native who has been performing music since the age of 13. Starting off with playing the drums in middle school, she joined the Northwestern High jazz band, won an Aretha Franklin music scholarship for college, and majored in music performance at Langston University.

Ellis is known for her work with Black Women Rock, Mollywop, and touring internationally with Mahogany Jones as well as state side with Le Nubians. She is a 2018 Gilda Award recipient and a 2019 Art X Detroit award recipient. Currently, Ellis is a band leader and has released her debut EP, “Luck Or Favor,” on vinyl and digital download.
