David Binder

David Binder has been the second trombonist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra since 2015. He was previously co-principal trombone of the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, Finland. His approach to trombone is varied as a solo and chamber musician while maintaining an orchestral career. Along with solo recitals across Europe and the US, Binder has won multiple competitions at events including the International Trombone Festival. Binder’s experience as an educator includes guest master classes at Northwestern and Michigan State Universities, along with teaching music students worldwide.
