Ed Miller
Born in Inkster, Ed Miller inherited his father’s gift for dance. Influenced by Locking, Jitterbug, and the TNT Shake dance, he created the “Funkateer” style in the 1970s. Miller formed the legendary Funkateers, dominating the Detroit dance scene and achieving national success on Dance Fever and in film auditions for Harry Belafonte. After a hiatus, he has returned to the forefront of Detroit dance. Miller’s mission is to highlight the rich cultural history and share the legacy of the Funkateers with the world, ensuring this unique style is recognized globally and passed on to the next generation of dancers.
