Amp Fiddler
Born and raised in Detroit, soul/funk artist Amp Fiddler (1958–2023) first studied music at Oakland and Wayne State Universities, and later with jazz great Harold Mckinney. He was a musician, performing artist, producer, and sound designer. Fiddler wrote and performed with artists such as Prince, George Clinton, Primal Scream, Moody Man, J Dilla, Maxwell, Basement Jaxx, The Brand New Heavies, The Enchantments, Seal, Sly and Robbie, Questlove, and Corinne Bailey Rae. Fiddler designed sound libraries for both Native Instruments (a music software developer) and Akai Professional (a high-end audio electronic distributor) that have sold more than 25,000 units across apps and physical drum machines. In addition, he created four solo albums.
