Naima Shamborguer

Born and raised in Detroit, Naima Shamborguer developed her finely-polished vocal abilities through extensive training in classical and jazz music. She has performed and recorded with prominent local, national, and international jazz artists for over 50 years. Recently, she produced the stage show, “Me and Sarah: The Music of Sarah Vaughan.” She has produced and released five CD projects, including a recent tribute to pianist Geri Allen, created in collaboration with several prominent young Detroit jazz musicians. Shamborguer is the proud recipient of a 2019 Knight Arts Challenge award.
