Beats Rhymes Everything Detroit
BRED stands for Beats Rhymes Everything Detroit. Founded in 2011 by filmmaker, actor, hip-hop artist, DJ, trombonist, and arts administrator Alesyn “Al Wu” McCall and DJ, producer, hip-hop artist, bassist, and community organizer Richard “King Kvll” McCall II, BRED is a collective of music artists who uplift and celebrate Detroit talent.
Raised by musicians in the Black American tradition, Al Wu (formerly Alexyn Wundrland) and King KVLL have produced seven collaborative and solo projects under BRED, hosted music-centric meetups, and are developing Detroit’s first hip-hop theatre festival.
