Ms. Shirel

Ms. Shirel became a ballerina at age 5 in Brooklyn, NY. She danced her way to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2009. A few years later, Ms. Shirel began developing a dance program for kids in small Brooklyn community spaces, where she discovered a gift for tapping into children’s creative potential through dance and song. In early 2015, she moved to Detroit and continued her program in community spaces. She also trained with Living Arts to apply her techniques to classrooms. In 2022, Ms. Shirel began creating videos rooted in ballet to empower kids to lean into their creative potential and emotional intelligence.
