Vaughn Taormina

Vaughn Taormina was born in Southfield, Michigan, and grew up in and around Detroit’s west side. He went to The Cooper Union in New York in 2007 and graduated with a bachelors in fine art in 2011. Taormina then moved back to Detroit where he has been working as a full-time artist ever since. He put together a solo painting show at The New Lab building in Corktown in 2024 as well as a solo show in New York with Doubleday and Cartwright in 2022. Taormina works collaboratively on animation with other artists such as Kenny Dixon Jr (Moodymann) and a project with Iddris Sandu that was featured on Hulu in 2020. In 2025, Taormina made six animations for Roland Content Studios.
